UN Ocean Conference 2025
June 7-13, 2025
The 2025 UN Ocean Conference (UNOC-3) was hosted in Nice, France, where thousands of international delegates gathered together to take action and achieve greater progress for the conservation and sustainable use of the ocean.
I attended UNOC as an accredited Delegate, working with clients on content creation & photography—including Sustainable Ocean Alliance, World Wildlife Fund, and the Nature Conservancy—as well as developing my professional skills as an ocean storyteller.

Client: Sustainable Ocean Alliance
Organized by Seas at Risk, the Blue March for the Ocean gathered thousands of ocean advocates to march together demanding ambitious ocean action. During the March, I took photos for Sustainable Ocean Alliance and interviewed organizational stakeholders for social media.

June 8, 2025 – WWF Panel on Human Rights & the Ocean Environment
Client: World Wildlife Fund
On World Oceans Day (June 8), World Wildlife Fund hosted a powerful panel event highlighting the intersection of human rights and the ocean environment, stimulating discussion on how to move from recognition to action.

June 9, 2025 – Launching the Coalition of Emerging Ocean Leaders (CEOL)
Client: Sustainable Ocean Alliance
Launched at UNOC-3, the Coalition of Emerging Leaders (COEL) is a collective of 27 youth-led organizations and initiatives—including Sustainable Ocean Alliance—working towards greater representation of young people across ocean governance and policy. During the event, CEOL leaders presented their Youth Manifesto and mission behind the coalition.

June 9, 2025 – SOA Ocean Leaders Fellowship Luncheon
Client: Sustainable Ocean Alliance
In celebration of the SOA Ocean Leaders Fellowship, SOA and Dona Bertarelli Philanthropy hosted an intimate luncheon overlooking the French Riviera at Castel Plage with all forty 2025 Fellows and Fellowship program supporters. The event presented the opportunity for networking, collaborations, and personal discussions between each Fellow and Dona Bertarelli to learn more about the Fellows’ work in the ocean space.

June 10, 2025 – SOA Community Wide Gathering

Marking the halfway point of UNOC-3, the SOA Community gathered together for an evening of connection, mid-conference reflections, collaboration, and networking—bonding with peers, collaborators, colleagues, mentors, and more.

June 11, 2025 – The Power of Storytelling in Ocean Conservation
Client: The Nature Conservancy
I had the honor of capturing content for The Nature Conservancy’s event on the Power of Storytelling in Ocean Conservation, including a private screening of their brand new “Blue 360” Film experience that takes you through the underwater world of Palau in a 360-degree immersive short film. The panel featured world-renowned oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle and actor, producer, and ocean advocate Auli’i Cravalho.

June 13, 2025 – SOA OceanXplorer Research Vessel Tour & UNOC Celebration
Client: Sustainable Ocean Alliance
On the last day of UNOC, Sustainable Ocean Alliance partnered with OceanX to join them onboard the OceanXplorer research vessel—the most advanced exploration, research, and media vessel ever built.
Aboard the OceanXplorer, 50+ young ocean leaders got to tour the incredible ship—from the captain’s control room to the dive center— followed by programming led by the SOA team that touched upon personal and professional reflections, youth empowerment, and community.
